Tulum is located in Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo, 118 km from Cancun, where the region’s local airport is located. Other big cities are Merida, Chetumal, Campeche. On the way through the peninsula along the coastline of the Caribbean Sea, we pass famous resorts such as Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Akumal and Puerto Aventuras. We have the option of ferry trips to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel. The Tulum area itself is also rich in countless attractions. There are, among others the ancient Mayan cities of Chichen Itza, Coba, Sian Ka’an national parks, Tulum Parque National, lagoon Kaan Luum, fisherman village Punta Allen, post-colonial cities such as Valladolid, Xcaret, XPlor, XelHa theme parks and the dolphinarium. However, the largest and unique attraction in the world is the concentration of „Cenotes”, i.e., open karst formations, caves with fresh water available for tourists and divers. In the immediate vicinity of the city are the ancient ruins of Tulum, the so-called Zona Arquelogica, beautiful beaches, clubs, bars, and restaurants. Local Mexican street food reigns everywhere in the streets from morning to night. Tulum has the climate prevailing. Although it is not a fully 5-star resort, both very demanding tourists and those looking for nature and the roots of the region will find something for themselves here.
